Job summary

Apple, Inc. seeks a Physical Design Engineer with Machine Learning to help design the next generation of Apple products. You will combine physical design expertise with ML to build predictive models and autonomous agents that assist design teams.

Work spans RTL, floorplanning, place-and-route, timing and thermal analysis; deploy ML in P&R flows to speed up convergence and improve PPA. You will collaborate across design, power, post-silicon, CAD, software and ML teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with optimization algorithms and programming in Python or C/C++.
• Academic or industry experience in physical design.

Responsibilities

• Apply ML and optimization to physical design areas like RTL, floorplanning, place and route, timing, power, and manufacturing yield.
• Train and deploy models in production P&R flows to predict outcomes and speed convergence.
• Build agentic tools and ML systems that integrate with EDA tooling via scripting.
• Collaborate across design, power, post-silicon, CAD, software and ML teams.
