Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an MK1 Vehicle Integrated Test Manager in the Lunar Permanence unit. You will lead end-to-end vehicle test planning and execution, focusing on avionics, comms, power, GNC, data handling, thermal control, and environmental tests.

Travel up to 50% during peak testing periods. You will manage personnel, mentor staff, and contribute as a test engineer when needed, with responsibility for milestones, team performance, and engineering coordination in a fast-paced spaceflight

Qualifications

• 1+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups
• 6+ years of experience in at least one specialty area applicable to space flight
• Experience leading multidisciplinary development and verification tests, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost
• Demonstrated leadership in establishing a high-performing safety culture
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and world class lunar test team.
• Work collabratively with the team to develop test plans, test procedures and execute tests ensuring all steps and processes are followed, be accountable to the safety of the hardware and people involved in the test.
• Manage and ensure team completion of test milestone reviews (Preliminary Test Reviews, Critical Test Reviews, Test Readiness reviews etc...)
• Integrate, coordinate, and triage engineering support across integrated product teams and test engineers.
• Lead their employees' professional development (e.g., performance evaluations, compensation and promotion management, and routine one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on career development.
