Job summary

Language Services Associates, Inc. seeks telephonic interpreters for Mixteco Bajo within its network of Independently Contracted Interpreters. You will handle on-demand calls and facilitate language access for LEP communities across the US and internationally.

Qualified candidates are bilingual in English and Mixteco Bajo, tech‑savvy, and have access to a quiet, secure interpreting space. Prior interpreting experience and industry certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Full fluency in English and Mixteco Bajo required.
• Technology proficient with web-based platforms, email, and Word.
• Quiet, secure interpreting space without noise.
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred.
• Industry certifications (CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, etc.) preferred.

• Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally.
• Deliver superior customer service to LEP community.
• Maintain confidentiality per Code of Professional Conduct.

Overview: As a telephonic interpreter for Mixteco Bajo in LSA’s network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you are responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in a variety of settings. Language Services Associates is continuously accepting qualified interpreters!

Responsibilities

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
• Provide superior customer service
• Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry specific best practices

Qualifications/Experience

• Full fluency in both English and Mixteco Bajo
• Technology proficient (web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word)
• An interpreting space that is quiet, secure, and free from outside noises
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural, etc.)
