• Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, air, and hydraulic systems.
• Notify management of out-of-spec conditions.

Mixer/Maintenance Assistant Summary

A manufacturer of liquid feed supplements for animals is looking for a Mixer/Maintenance Assistant.

Mixer/Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities

• Batch, mix, and route feed according to specified formulas, procedures, and schedule
• Fully utilize batching, mixing, and routing equipment and destination tanks
  o Properly weight all pre-mix additions according to specified formulas and add to the mixer at the appropriate time
• Receive ingredient at the manufacturing facility and unload from barge, railcar and/or truck
• Visually inspect, sample, and perform Quality Control tests to ensure ingredient quality prior to and during unloading
• Perform assigned routine and preventative maintenance as required
• Establish and maintain a complete inventory of shop tools, spare equipment, essential repair parts, and maintenance supplies
• Interpret and understand electrical, mechanical, air and hydraulic systems to trouble-shoot and diagnose problems
• Visually inspect, sample, and perform Quality Control tests to ensure ingredient quality prior to and during unloading and notify management immediately of any out-of-specification conditions

Schedule & Pay

• 1st shift 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday, varies by season
• $21.00/HR

Mixer/Maintenance Assistant Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience, preferred
• Reading, writing, and mathematical skills at a high school level
• Mechanical aptitude
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals in an appropriate manner
• Ability to work in and promote a team environment
• Willingness to work in all conditions of the weather
