Job summary

J&J Snack Foods Corp. is seeking a Mixer to accurately and safely prepare dough for production lines in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

The role requires following usage sheets, maintaining ingredient records, and ensuring equipment is properly kept for continuous safe operation. You will handle dough and coating preparation, manage supplies, and uphold plant sanitation and safety standards while inspecting ingredients for quality and foreign materials.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, sanitation practices, and Product Trace & Recovery in the food industry.
• Up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares dough for production line as directed by line lead or shift supervisor.
• Follows Usage Sheets and verifies correct ingredients are used.
• Prepares coating for production line as directed.
• Keeps complete, accurate, and timely records of ingredient usage and other records as required.
• Maintains adequate supply of necessary ingredients on hand.
• Ensures doughmaking equipment is maintained for continuous safe operation.
• Cuts sections from mother dough and deposits into feed hopper.
• Rolls empty dough table to mixer to receive new batch of dough.
• Maintains work area to meet sanitation and safety standards.
• Inspects all ingredients used in dough preparation for packaging quality and absence of foreign materials.
• Reports deficiencies to supervisor or line lead; performs other related work as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Essential Functions

• Prepares dough for use on production line as directed by line lead or shift supervisor.
• Follow Usage Sheets and verify that correct ingredients are used.
• Prepares coating for use on production line as directed by line lead or shift supervisor.
• Keeps complete, accurate, and timely records of ingredient usage and other records as required.
• Keeps an adequate supply of necessary ingredients on hand.
• Checks to see that the doughmaking equipment is being properly maintained to perform a continuous safe operation.
• Cuts sections from mother dough and deposits into feed hopper.
• Rolls empty dough table to mixer to receive new batch of dough.
• Maintain work area to meet plant sanitation and safety standards.
• Inspects all ingredients used in dough preparation for packaging quality and foreign materials.
• Reports to shift supervisor or line lead any deficiencies which could affect the finished product quality.Performs all other related work as assigned.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision. Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must understand the operations from mixing to recognize problems that can occur and take quick corrective action.
• Must be knowledgeable in GMPs', HACCP, SOP's, sanitation practices, & Product Trace & Recovery pertaining to the food industry

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• up to one month related experience or training;
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.
