Job summary

George Mason University’s Mason Innovation Exchange (MIX) seeks a proactive MIX Program Coordinator to optimize operations across the Makerspace, Media Lab, and Entrepreneurship Incubator. You will report to the MIX Senior Director and help develop high-level programming, enhance outreach, and drive innovative initiatives.

The role is part-time, on-site, with evening/weekend events and travel between Fairfax, Arlington, and Manassas campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Strong proficiency with social media and marketing.
• Experience in event coordination and scheduling.
• Experience managing and supervising student staff or interns.
• Familiarity with makerspace equipment and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop student staff schedules and supervise operational coverage.
• Recruit, train, and mentor student staff; document timesheets.
• Coordinate workshops and events; manage space usage and equipment.
• Create newsletters and promotional materials; maintain website content.
• Plan and execute innovation-focused events, workshops, and competitions.
• Assist with strategic development initiatives for MIX programs.
