Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University’s Institute for Contemporary Art seeks a Community Media Center Coordinator to lead daily operations, public programs, workshops, and festivals. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, coordinate partnerships, and ensure high-quality programming aligned with ICA’s mission.

The role involves cross-department collaboration, year-round event production, and guiding stylistic direction for community media initiatives, with a focus on accessibility and audience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a museum, gallery, nonprofit arts organization, or related cultural institution.
• Strong research, writing, editorial, and organizational and logistical skills.
• Experience coordinating programs and events, with community engagement experience.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills, including public-facing materials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Community Media Center and staff of 4-7 technicians.
• Develop, monitor, and reconcile departmental budgets.
• Plan and execute 15–25 annual programs and events.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and external partners.
• Lead partnerships including Author RVA, RESONATE Festival, and Community Media Center workshops.
