Job summary

SP Global DRT is hiring a Water Restoration/ Mitigation Technician to respond to service calls and perform mitigation of water, fire, smoke, and mold per SERVPRO processes. The role involves setting up efficient job flow, coordinating requirements, completing documentation, and following safety procedures on site.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, moisture readings, vehicle and tool maintenance, and teamwork to ensure quality production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• IICRC certifications and/or restoration experience preferred.
• Effective written and oral communication skills required.

• Perform and evaluate mitigation/restoration activities including water extraction, fire damage cleanup, setup of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment and document moisture readings and daily progress.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
• Prepare rooms and areas for work activities; set up staging areas and equipment for each project.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards, jobsite findings, and equipment/tool requirements to supervisors.
• Communicate with management and other technicians to maintain efficient production processes.
• Work as a team to provide quality and efficient work and perform production processes as directed.
• Perform end-of-day and end-of-job cleanup and breakdown, leaving the jobsite clean and orderly.

Job Description

The Mitigation Technician completes water, fire, smoke, and mold mitigation jobs according to SERVPRO processes per work order. The Technician responds to service calls, sets up and establishes efficient job flow, coordinates the requirements for each job, completes job documentation, and performs production work while following and enforcing all safety procedures on the job site.

• Perform and evaluate mitigation/restoration activities including water extraction, fire damage cleanup, set-up of specialty equipment, and demolition.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment and document moisture readings and daily progress.
• Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
• Prepare rooms and areas for work activities; set up staging areas and equipment for each project.

• Communicate with management and other technicians to maintain efficient production processes.
• Work as a team to provide quality and efficient work and perform production processes as directed.

• Resolve problems quickly as they arise.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures on the job site.
• Learn and develop mitigation/restoration skills to elevate the SERVPRO brand and grow within the company.
• Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Experience in cleaning/restoration preferred.
• IICRC certifications and/or previous fire/water/mold property restoration experience preferred.
• Docusketch experience preferred.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license, approved by our insurance company, required.
• Ability to travel locally or out of state when necessary.
• Must be able to work in person and travel to job sites as needed. Available for weekend and after-hours on-call rotation.
• Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and able to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Repetitive pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of objects throughout the day.
• Walking and standing for long periods, as well as driving, sitting, and climbing.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights.
• Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces under buildings and attics).
• Exposure to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise.
• Occasional exposure to extreme conditions such as heat, cold, and noxious odors.
• Required to occasionally wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform demanding tasks throughout the day.

Job Type

• Full- Time, up to 40 hours per week.
• On- Call

Salary

$12-$17 / hour, pending experience.
