SP Global DRT is seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Crew Chief for water restoration to lead a mitigation crew through water, fire, and mold projects with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You will supervise drying, extraction, and remediation work, document moisture readings, and coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure timely project completion. Strong on-site leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of water/fire mitigation experience.
• IICRC WRT or similar certification preferred.
• Knowledge of drying equipment and moisture documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and strong customer service skills.
• Must be able to work in person and travel to job sites; available for weekend and after-hours on-call rotation.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass background check.

Job Description

The Water Restoration Lead Technician/Assistant Project Manager leads a mitigation crew in water, fire, and mold remediation projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the mitigation crew on water, fire, smoke, and mold remediation projects.
• Perform and supervise water extraction, structural drying, demolition, and remediation production work.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment and accurately document moisture readings and daily progress.
• Manage and complete jobs according to SERVPRO processes per work order, monitoring assigned jobs from start to finish.
• Respond to service calls, set up and establish efficient job flow, and coordinate the requirements for each job.
• Communicate clear expectations to production technicians and supervise their activities and quality of work.
• Explain processes and answer customer questions, establishing relationships with commercial, insurance, and residential customers.
• Monitor, communicate, and respond to customer needs and concerns to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain continuous communication with internal parties, including the Job File Coordinator and management.
• Identify safety hazards, communicate them, and establish control measures to ensure the safety of occupants and workers.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures on the job site.
• Resolve problems quickly as they arise.
• Manage job file documentation to ensure complete and accurate project details, including photos and required readings.
• Manage and control the costs of production projects.
• Manage assets by protecting and properly using equipment and materials.
• Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 1-3 years of water/fire mitigation experience.
• IICRC WRT or similar certification preferred.
• Knowledge of drying equipment and moisture documentation.
• Valid driver's license and strong customer service skills, required.
• Must be able to work in person and travel to job sites as needed. Available for weekend and after-hours on-call rotation.
• Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and able to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Repetitive pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of objects throughout the day.
• Walking and standing for long periods, as well as driving, sitting, and climbing.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights.
• Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces under buildings and attics).
• Exposure to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise.
• Occasional exposure to extreme conditions such as heat, cold, and noxious odors.
• Required to occasionally wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform demanding tasks throughout the day.

Job Type

• Full- Time, up to 40 hours per week.
• On- Call

Salary: $18-$23 / hour, pending experience.
