Position: Mitigation Technician, located in Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
Duties
Assisting in water damage concerns in residential homes. IICRC Certification is mandatory. Responsibilities include water extraction, mold eradication, demolition, drying of materials, vacuuming, and scrubbing.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess the damage to the home; identify or confirm the root cause of the disaster.
- Obtain Work Authorization from the Customer.
- Complete Tick Sheet: identify specific work and equipment needed.
- Gather supplies and equipment.
- Perform work or schedule with the insured to return as needed.
- Monitor equipment and document the drying process daily.
Mitigation Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Demolish and remove affected contents.
- Extract water.
- Remove mold.
- Dry carpet, wall, sheetrock, and subfloors.
- Remove sewage overflow.
- Board up windows.
- Install subfloor or framing if needed.
- Perform "Flood Cuts" on drywall or remove entire sheetrock.
- Contain exposed areas using plastic; seal off needed areas.
Cleaning Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Vacuum and clean mold; wipe with an antimicrobial towel.
- Paint surface areas, such as new drywall and doors.
- Caulk and fill nail holes (trim and cabinets) to prepare for paint.
- Pack out items and clean them at the office, depending on quantity and size.
Qualifications
- Must be IICRC Certified with at least 1 year of experience.
- Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Experience in the field.
- Able to work in tight (crawl) spaces for extended periods.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Pass a background check.
- Strong work ethic.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
