Apex Contracting and Restoration, a division of Kustom, is seeking Tradesman for their office supporting the San Diego Region.

Title:Mitigation Technician

Pay Range:$20-$30 per hour (based on experience)

Location: San Diego, CA

What You Will Do:

  • Perform emergency board up, water extraction, water damage mitigation and mold remediation.
  • Assist in demolition and prepare areas/rooms for work activities and equipment.
  • Execute fire damage mitigation services efficiently and safely.
  • Perform heavy cleaning duties including cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing debris.
  • Remove asbestos from ceilings, walls, beams, boilers, and other structures, following hazardous waste handling guidelines.
  • Build connecting walkway between mobile unit or portable showers and work area, using hand tools, lumber, nails, plastic sheeting, and duct tape.
  • Position portable air evacuation and filtration system inside work area.
  • Spray chemical solution over asbestos covered surfaces, using tank with attached hose and nozzle, to soften asbestos.
  • Cut and scrape asbestos from surfaces, using knife and scraper.
  • Shovel asbestos into plastic disposal bags and seals bags, using duct tape.
  • Clean work area of loose asbestos, using vacuum, broom, and dustpan.
  • Place asbestos in disposal bags and seals bags, using duct tape.
  • Interface compassionately with clients and relay information to the Lead/Project Manager/ Superintendent.
  • Assist with functions outside of mitigation (picking up and delivering materials, performing Matterport scans, etc.) depending on job volume.

What You Will Bring:

  • 1 + years’ experience in the construction field.
  • AHERA contractor/worker course/training.
  • Lead certification a plus.
  • Ability to focus on details.
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work assigned.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • A valid driver's license in alignment with company policies
