Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Network Engineer for Mission Systems to design and support high‑cadence launch operations and production networks. You will implement reliable network architectures, maintain data center networks, and lead automation efforts across engineering and facilities.

Qualifications

• Design and implement highly available networks for production and launch.
• Maintain data center/site networks per standards.
• Experience with network hardware procurements and SD-WAN appliances.
• Plan outages and coordinate maintenance with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with ITAR, ISO, NIST and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available networks, balancing routing and redundancy for production and launch.
• Design and maintain mission data center and site networks per standards, collaborating with infrastructure teams.
• Evaluate and deploy network hardware including switches, firewalls, SD-WAN.
• Contribute to network automation tooling and deployment framework.
• Coordinate network outages for software updates and hardware refreshes.
• Troubleshoot and publish RCA documentation and retrospectives.
• Provide on-call networking support during launches and tests.
• Improve network monitoring and telemetry for proactive issue detection.
• Create and update network docs and diagrams.
• Collaborate to prevent systemic failure modes and redundancy issues.
• Gather requirements from customers/vendors and create implementation plans.
• Ensure configurations meet industry and cybersecurity standards.
