Job summary

S3I Engineering, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support DoD mission systems, sensors, and integrated software architectures. You will lead testing, troubleshooting, and field activities, with travel and occasional after-hours work.

A BS in a technical field and DoD clearance readiness are required. The role emphasizes independent investigation, leadership in test events, and collaboration with government personnel in aircraft and lab environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Linux-based troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
• Reverse engineering of system behavior for troubleshooting and testing.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570/8140 compliance within 6 months.
• Experience with DoD sensor systems on DoD platforms.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• US Citizenship and eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.
• Ability to access government facilities and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, and testing on aircraft and in government laboratories.
• Reproduce and analyze field-reported issues for root cause validation.
• Provide input during design reviews and support requirements derivation.
• Collaborate with government personnel to deliver reliable solutions.
• Troubleshoot multi-system problems involving sensors, software, and hardware.
• Evaluate and refine test methodologies to ensure performance.
• Configure test benches for advanced testing.
• Lead software test events and mentor junior engineers.
• Prepare detailed field test reports for leadership and stakeholders.
• Support tasks outside normal hours (<10% annually).
• Travel to support tasking approximately 12-18 weeks annually.
