Job summary

S3I Engineering provides specialty engineering services to US Government agencies and is seeking Systems Engineer II candidates to test mission management systems and sensors for DoD programs. You will support development, testing, and analysis of complex systems, requiring independent troubleshooting and leadership during test events.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) and can obtain DoD 8570/8140 compliance within 6 months.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, CS, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and system diagnostics across multiple projects.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570/8140 compliance within 6 months.
• Experience with DoD sensor systems and mission systems on DoD platforms.
• Excellent communication; US Citizenship for TS/SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration and testing on aircraft and labs; identify deficiencies and advise on fixes.
• Reproduce field issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support design reviews and requirements traceability.
• Collaborate with government personnel and partners for reliable solutions.
• Troubleshoot multi-system problems involving sensors, networks, software and hardware.
• Develop and validate test methodologies to improve performance.
• Configure complex test benches for advanced testing.
• Lead software test events and mentor junior engineers.
• Prepare field test reports and communicate findings to leadership.
• Support occasional after-hours tasks (<10% annually).
• Travel 12-18 weeks annually.
