Job summary

S3I Engineering, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer I to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. The role involves development, integration, testing, and analysis of mission systems and sensors deployed across DoD platforms.

You will troubleshoot, configure, test, and document activities within structured engineering processes in lab and field environments. The position requires a BS in a technical field, Linux skills, and eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Foundational Linux troubleshooting and system analysis experience.
• Experience configuring basic Linux-based test environments.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570/8140 within 6 months.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation, configuration, and testing of mission systems within labs and aircraft environments.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting using Linux command-line tools.
• Configure test benches to validate software requirements and system behavior.
• Reproduce system anomalies and support documenting root causes.
• Support design reviews with technical observations aligned to requirements.
• Prepare field test reports and structured notes for seniors and government personnel.
• Follow DoD cybersecurity practices during configuration and testing.
• Provide dependable support to government stakeholders and partners.
• Travel to support tasking 12-18 weeks annually.
