AZAK, a defense technology startup, seeks a motivated Mission Success Manager to oversee high‑stakes demonstrations and post‑award opportunities. This role reports to the VP of Business Development and requires a premier program manager who thrives in ambiguity and can drive complex defense programs from concept to impact.

You will coordinate field exercises, manage documentation for compliance, and partner with Engineering and Operations to align demonstrations with production realities.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a strong program manager overseeing complex events or military exercises.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create structure where none exists.
• Deep understanding of defense sector documentation, compliance frameworks, and logistics.

• Customer Engagement: coordinate on-site vehicle mobility demonstrations in varied environments and weather.

As AZAK scales its operations, we are seeking a motivated, highly organized Mission Success Manager to oversee critical events, tactical demonstrations, and post-award follow-on opportunities. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development, this individual will act as a premier program manager to ensure the seamless execution of defense technology competitions, events, and field exercises. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous startup environments, understands the rigorous documentation required to successfully participate in defense events, and is intensely motivated by seeing a team successfully cross the finish line.

Responsibilities

• Event & Program Management: Oversee the planning, logistics, and execution of high-stakes capability demonstrations, field exercises, and defense technology competitions.
• Documentation & Compliance: Manage and compile all required technical, logistical, and regulatory documentation to guarantee AZAK’s successful participation in military and defense events.
• Post-Award Transition: Maintain a driver's seat mentality over post-award follow-on opportunities, ensuring momentum is captured after successful demonstrations and competition wins.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner fiercely with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure field readiness, aligning demonstration capabilities with production realities.
• Customer Engagement: Coordinate and lead on-site vehicle mobility demonstrations in varied environments and weather conditions, ensuring our technology is showcased with a devotion to excellence.

Requirements

• Proven track record as a strong program manager with experience overseeing complex events, demonstrations, or military exercises.
• Exceptional comfort with ambiguity; ability to rapidly adapt to shifting priorities and build structure where none currently exists.
• Deep understanding of the necessary documentation, compliance frameworks, and logistical requirements for defense sector events and competitions.
• Unrelenting work ethic and an intense attention to detail—you treat every external interaction with the rigor a high-end product deserves.
• Highly dynamic travel expectations: As an early-stage startup, our schedule is unpredictable. You must be willing to travel frequently and on short notice for strategic project summits, international events, and operational demonstrations.
• Must be based in Denver, CO.
• Cash compensation is targeted at $110,000 - $130,000 + performance bonus and equity (commensurate with experience)
