Job summary

Vast Space Llc. in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Software Engineer, Mission Software, to support the development of systems for artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. You will report to Senior Manager, DevOps & Platform, and collaborate with multiple teams to build robust web and backend solutions.

This full-time exempt role covers frontend and backend development, data pipelines, and tooling to accelerate software delivery, including interfaces with flight software and production DevOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or other engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of software development or relevant industry experience.
• Experience building, shipping, and supporting complex, data-intensive full-stack software applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement web applications with modern frontends and APIs.
• Develop backends, data modeling, APIs, and pipelines.
• Collaborate with Flight Software interfaces and simulations.
• Build tools to accelerate SDLC and deployments.
• Iterate tooling as the company grows and scales.
• Promote scalable software practices and patterns across teams.
