Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Workforce Development Lead to oversee workforce planning, onboarding, training, qualification management, and professional development for NORAD and USSPACECOM operations at the Cheyenne Mountain Complex.

The role ensures a mission-ready, highly skilled workforce through coordinated development, knowledge transfer, and certification tracking across engineering, cybersecurity, software, operations, and mission support.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 6+ years, PhD with 3+ years.
• Experience leading workforce development, organizational development, technical training, or talent development initiatives.
• Experience supporting large, multi-disciplinary DoD or Government programs.
• Experience managing staffing baselines and resource forecasting.
• Experience developing qualification programs and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead workforce development, readiness, and sustainment initiatives.
• Manage strategic workforce planning and staffing baselines aligned with mission needs.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, and employee integration.
• Develop and maintain training plans, qualification matrices, and certification tracking.
• Monitor mandatory and mission-specific training for compliance and readiness.
• Identify skill gaps and coordinate targeted development with managers.
• Lead knowledge transfer, succession planning, and cross-training activities.
• Maintain contingency staffing plans for 24/7 mission continuity.
• Support mentoring, career development, leadership development, and retention.
• Analyze turnover trends and recommend retention improvements.
• Produce workforce readiness metrics, dashboards, and leadership briefings.
