Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. is seeking an Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) Personal Financial Counselor in Washington to deliver comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families on military installations. The role covers in-person and virtual counseling, workshops, and briefings, coordinating with POCs and ensuring DoD scope compliance.

Requires 3+ years in financial counseling, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), and U.S. citizenship with fluent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Associates degree + 4 years experience may substitute for Bachelor's.
• High school diploma + 6 years experience may substitute for Bachelor's.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen and fluent English required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required per contract.
• Able to obtain a favorable Tier 2 background investigation.
• Must pass OCI disclosure process.
• Certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling to service members and families.
• Develop spending plans for extended absences.
• Create and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate and deliver a wide range of PFM classes/workshops.
• Assist with virtual counseling via web, chat or video platforms.
• Communicate with leadership and DoD points of contact to ensure scope.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
