Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson seeks a section leader to guide engineers and analysts in mission planning, systems engineering, and program execution. You will drive engineering solutions across programs and IRADs while mentoring a growing team.

You will shape talent growth, manage performance development, and align with DoD mission requirements. The role expects active clearance and U.S. citizenship, with onsite work in the Tucson area.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with mission planning for weapons, system performance, CONOPS, or algorithms and signal processing.
• Experience with aerodynamics, Launch Acceptability Regions, or modeling and simulation (6-DOF).
• Experience with software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification (Linux, virtual machines, C#, C++, Java).
• Experience with aircraft integration and store interface (MIL STD 1553 and 1760).
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 8–15 engineers and analysts to realize Mission Planning team objectives.
• Execute a portfolio of project work for programs, Captures and IRADs.
• Opportunities to contribute as an individual engineer on projects.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and influencing skills across the team.
• Participate in talent acquisition, goal setting and performance development.
• Ensure direct reports have growth opportunities.
