Job summary

Awana is seeking a Talent Acquisition & Development Specialist to source exceptional talent and lead hiring, onboarding, and retention in a mission-driven ministry. You will collaborate across teams to define workforce needs, create role profiles, and market roles internally and externally to attract missionally aligned candidates.

This full-time hybrid role is based at our St. Charles, IL office with an estimated 10-15% travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience sourcing, interviewing, and guiding candidate selection with proven retention.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
• PHR, SHRM-CP or similar HR certifications a plus.
• Experience with an ATS and HRIS; ADP Workforce Now a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and travel 10-15%.
• Understanding of the Bible and Christian doctrine is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source, recruit, and onboard Awana team members.
• Workforce planning and maintaining position descriptions; benchmark roles and budgets.
• Support HR team operations including onboarding, events, payroll, and benefits.
• Uphold and promote organizational stewardship and ministry values.
• Develop talent pipelines and dashboards to track hiring and retention metrics.
