Job summary

Christ Community Health Services, a Memphis-based faith-driven FQHC, seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting. You will handle payroll journaling, bank reconciliations, and general ledgers while supporting audits and revenue systems.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in accounting with 1–2 years of experience in payroll processing, reconciliations, and month-end closes, and can collaborate with finance, clinic, and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 1–2 years of payroll processing, bank reconciliation, and general-ledger experience.
• Knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, AR, and month-end close.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple accounting priorities.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, accounting systems, and standard office equipment.
• Discretion with confidential financial information.
• Clear written and verbal communication and collaboration with internal teams.
• No license or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and financial reports, including PTO and payroll accruals.
• Audit payroll deductions for accuracy and documentation.
• Prepare a daily cash report using the outstanding-check list, AP aging, and GL.
• Record daily bank transactions and reconcile bank accounts.
• Reconcile clinic daily cash activity and related clearing accounts.
• Reconcile prepaid expenses and other current-asset accounts.
• Record, reconcile, and invoice accounts receivable activity.
• Assist with monthly close of revenue systems and record revenue entries.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for the annual financial audit and UDS reporting.
• Research and resolve discrepancies affecting payroll, banking, cash, receivables, revenue, and GL.
• Maintain organized financial records and internal controls.
• Perform other duties to support Finance operations.
