Job summary

Sisters of Mercy of the Americas in Burlingame, CA seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, mission-driven nursing care for retired Sisters. Non-exempt position offering direct patient care, medication management, and coordination with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted California RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, medication management, clinical case management, and coordination of healthcare resources.
• Assess and document changes in health status, symptoms, treatments, medication responses, and incidents.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with Sisters and the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate services and communicate with nursing staff, community providers, Sister Life Ministers, and designated healthcare powers of attorney.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and protect confidential information.
• Promote independence and support well-being of the Sisters across physical, emotional, spiritual and social aspects.
• Respond to emergencies and report changes in condition, risks, and urgent care needs.
• Follow safety procedures, infection-control practices, and universal precautions.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and care conferences.
• When scheduled as Charge Nurse, supervise LPNs, CNAs, and other staff, coordinate assignments, and provide shift handoff updates.
• Work a flexible schedule including rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and additional shifts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
