Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate for part-time hours to provide excellent customer service, greet shoppers, and help keep the store organized and welcoming.

You’ll operate the register, balance cash, restock merchandise, and support daily sales with the team. The role includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with paid training and opportunities to build retail skills.

Qualifications

• Provide friendly customer service to shoppers and donors.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Demonstrate basic math and computer skills for transactions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Stand and walk for most of the shift; lift or move merchandise as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately.
• Balance the register and perform opening/closing tasks as assigned.
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat and easy to shop.
• Help sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized.
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals.
