Job summary

Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Parish in Raleigh is seeking a Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist to support the Parish, School, and Preschool with timely AP processing, payroll, benefits, and related tasks. The role requires high organization, discretion, and adherence to diocesan policies.

You will manage vendor payments, 1099s, employee payroll inputs, and benefit administration while maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate-level education in accounting, bookkeeping, business or a related field.
• Three+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Google Drive and standard email applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion.
• Commitment to following policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and direct-payment transactions for Parish, School and Preschool.
• Code, review, and reconcile transactions; handle credit card payments and documentation.
• Manage Amazon Business transactions and 1099-MISC vendor documentation.
• Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries.
• Process biweekly payroll inputs and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain employee benefit portal and onboarding documentation.
• Communicate payroll deadlines and benefits information to staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and personal information.
