Job summary

IOTA Community Schools in Memphis invites applications for English teachers for the current school year. We serve diverse students across four public charter schools with a mission to provide high-quality education and college preparation.

The role requires developing and delivering standards-aligned instruction, planning lessons, using data to monitor progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate content endorsement or a transferable out-of-state license within 90 days, or on track to certification in Tennessee.
• Commitment to IOTA mission and meeting deadlines for lesson plan submissions and grades.
• If licensure is not yet obtained, eligibility for Practitioner license while completing graduate coursework, with enrollment in an EPP program.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings and training to maintain professional competence.
• Deliver standards-aligned instruction and use data to monitor pupil progress.
• Plan weekly and long-range lessons including standards, objectives, assessments, and materials.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to align curricula and address student needs.
• Lead or participate in student activities and supervise/sponsor programs as needed.
