The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is looking for a people-centered, solutions-focused Human Resources Generalist to help create an outstanding employee experience across our association. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Director of Human Resources, managers, and staff to support the full employee lifecycle—from recruiting and onboarding to performance management, employee relations, HR systems, and process improvement.

What You’ll Do:
Serve as a knowledgeable, approachable HR resource for employees and managers.
Coach leaders on employee relations, performance expectations, documentation, feedback, and accountability.
Partner with hiring managers to create effective job postings, support interviews, coordinate selection activities, and improve the candidate/new hire experience.
Support onboarding, performance review cycles, benefits and compensation processes, leave of absence administration, HR compliance, and staff communications.
Use UKG Ready and other HR tools to improve workflows, forms, reporting, permissions, and employee-facing processes.
Lead or coordinate assigned HR projects that strengthen the employee, manager, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding experience.

What You’ll Bring (Required):
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 3 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
Working knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, compensation, and HR compliance.
Strong communication, organization, follow-through, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.
The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and care.
Preferred: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification; experience with UKG Ready or another HRIS/HCM system; and experience improving HR workflows or performance-management programs.
