Job summary

Mountain Housing Opportunities is seeking a detail-oriented Asset Management Analyst to monitor and report on the performance and long-term health of its affordable housing portfolio in Western North Carolina. You will work closely with the Director of Asset Management to ensure compliance with federal and state programs and drive sound, mission-aligned decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of residential and commercial assets, ensuring performance aligns with strategic goals.
• Maintain knowledge of HUD, USDA-RD, LIHTC, and state regulatory policies.
• Contribute to project planning for new developments, acquisitions, and rehab.
• Prepare regular reporting for boards, senior management, investors, lenders and regulators.
• Assist with annual operating budgets in coordination with the Financial Asset Manager.
• Develop multiyear capital improvement plans with third-party management.
• Conduct market research on rent markets for each location.
• Identify and resolve issues related to watch list properties.
• Monitor property conditions and performance against benchmarks and market trends.
• Manage capital needs assessments, forecasting capital plans and reserves.
• Support special projects for Asset Management and Resident Services.
• Other duties as necessary.
