Job summary

FSA Federal in Phoenix seeks a Paralegal / Legal Assistant III to support the United States Attorney's Office mission. You will review case material, prepare digests with legal references, and assist attorneys with discovery, pretrial work, and drafting pleadings.

The role requires a Paralegal Certificate or HS Diploma with at least three years of paralegal experience, plus strong research, organizational, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or HS Diploma with at least 3 years of paralegal experience.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and procedures; trial experience preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication, including legal writing.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills and ability to multi-task.
• Experience with MS Office suite and legal databases; technical aptitude for automated resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in reviewing case material and preparing digests with legal references.
• Evaluate new and complex cases and reference established standards.
• Assist in determining probable cause and plan evidence gathering.
• Conduct legal research and interview federal agents regarding case facts.
• Prepare, review, and organize discovery and summaries; manage witnesses.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and proposed orders; organize files and exhibits.
• Summarize depositions and testimony to aid attorneys; support trial exhibits.
