FSA Federal is seeking a Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant II to support the US Attorney's Office in Wheeling, WV. The role focuses on reviewing case materials, preparing digests, organizing exhibits, and assisting attorneys with trial preparations.

The candidate should have a paralegal certificate or a high school diploma with related experience, strong research and writing skills, and proficiency in MS Office and legal databases. Excellent teamwork and customer service are essential.

Formación

• Paralegal or equivalent with required certificate or two years of related experience.
• Trial and automated litigation support experience preferred.
• Ability to grasp and understand the organization and functions of the customer.
• Knowledge of basic legal research and standard legal citation.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including legal writing.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Experience with MS Office and databases/legal research tools.
• Commitment to excellent customer service; positive and flexible.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain professionalism under pressure.

Responsabilidades

• Assists attorney in reviewing case material, gathering and analyzing materials, and preparing legal digests.
• Drafts, edits, and reviews non-legal information, creates correspondence and research reports.
• Helps prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and creating statistical charts.
• Interviews potential witnesses and prepares summary reports.
• Reviews legal documents for citations and references.
• Attends pre-trial meetings to identify missing documents.
• Prepares summaries of testimony and depositions after trial.
• Investigates facts and laws and prepares cases and research correspondence.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
