Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory is seeking an Assistant Dispatcher to coordinate donor pickups in the Virginia Beach area. You will act as a liaison between telephone operators and truck drivers to ensure timely pickups and accurate ticketing.

You will also monitor routes and reschedule pickups as needed while maintaining donor relations. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and some supervisory experience; knowledge of local geography is helpful for efficient scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and basic public-facing experience.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Virginia Beach area is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Telephone Operators and Truck Drivers for timely donor pickups.
• Schedule, log, prioritize and distribute all pickup tickets and records.
• Monitor driver progress and reassign drivers as needed to meet routes.
• Prepare up-to-date records and reports of pickups and donations received.
• Contact customers to resolve pickup problems and express appreciation.
