Job summary

BigBear.ai is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support software development, QA, and operations on DoD environments. You will build and maintain automation scripts, support CI/CD workflows in GitLab/GitHub, and help manage data pipelines on NIPR systems.

The role targets a technically strong early-career engineer with Python, Linux, and data workflow experience, with growth into containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, and cloud deployments through mentorship and hands-on projects.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python for automation and data workflows.
• Strong Linux environment experience.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub or GitLab workflows.
• Basic SQL knowledge and Databricks exposure.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain Python automation scripts for QA, development, and operations.
• Assist with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab/GitHub, including build and deployment workflows.
• Support Docker containerization and Kubernetes environments as skills progress.
• Improve Jira workflows, dashboards, and sprint boards for efficiency.
• Work on NIPR systems and prepare artifacts for eventual SIPR migration.
