Job summary

Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation (DBEDC) is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead internal management and serve as second in command. The COO will guide six department leads, drive the operating rhythm, and translate CEO direction into department-level action.

The role reports to the CEO and sits on the Executive Leadership Team, working to align community housing, lending, and workforce goals with organizational strategy.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Track record coaching leaders and guiding senior teams.
• Strong financial literacy and budget oversight experience.
• Ability to translate CEO direction into department plans and outcomes.
• Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration at executive level.

Responsibilities

• Lead six department leads and set clear expectations and development plans.
• Manage operating rhythm, executive projects, and cross-department initiatives.
• Translate board and CEO priorities into practical operating plans.
• Support internal management systems, policies, and staff day-to-day operations.
• Foster collaboration among real estate, development, and program teams.
• Provide candid counsel to CEO and maintain disciplined execution.
