Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Chinese Language Instructor to support a national security mission. The role emphasizes delivering language training, conducting proficiency testing, and shaping pedagogy in a mission-driven environment.

Ideal candidates bring 8–12 years of adult teaching (or a Master’s with 2–10 years), ILR 5/5/5 capability, and a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Travel may be 0–10%. Proficiency in English and Chinese and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of adult teaching experience (Master's degree may substitute).
• Bachelor's degree in education, foreign language, or linguistics (or equivalent).
• 90%+ on English test; Senior level proficiency.
• Degree earned in the U.S. or in a country where the target language is native.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 3–5 hours of daily instruction in ILR levels 0–3.
• Complete training and become a certified language tester with 3–4 weekly proficiency assessments.
• Instruct students in speaking a foreign language and teaching culture through communication.
• Develop class materials and training aids to meet student needs.
• Work under seasoned instructors and coordinate with senior staff.
• Stay current on events in countries where the languages are spoken.
