Job summary

The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego seeks a collaborative Chief Financial Officer to lead the Diocese's finance and administration, reporting to the Bishop and serving on the Bishop's Executive Team. The CFO will oversee budgeting, treasury, investments, HR, property, insurance, risk management, technology, and governance across the Diocese.

Qualifications

• Executive-level experience in finance, administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, investments, budgeting, nonprofit governance, employment practices, and organizational leadership.
• Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with bishops, clergy, governing bodies, staff, volunteers, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of financial and administrative operations for the Diocese.
• Report to the Bishop and serve on the Bishop's Executive Team as principal advisor on financial, administrative, and governance matters.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, accounting, treasury, cash management, investments, audits, and financial reporting.
• Lead human resources, property, insurance, risk management, technology, and governance support.
