Job summary

The Horizon Texas Conference invites inquiries for Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy, reporting, and stewardship across churches, camps, and mission partners.

Hybrid position based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with a salary of $145,000–$155,000, exempt, full-time; relocation assistance considered. You will oversee GAAP accounting, treasury, internal controls, pension and benefits, audits, and board reporting while building financial literacy across local churches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• At least seven years of financial management experience, including nonprofit accounting.
• At least five years of supervisory leadership experience.
• Strong GAAP, nonprofit accounting, budgeting, audit management, and restricted-fund compliance.
• Experience presenting financial information to boards and volunteers.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheets; ability to implement financial systems.
• Commitment to Horizon Texas Conference mission and inclusive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to senior leadership and CF&A.
• Develop multi-year forecasts, reserve strategies, and funding guidance.
• Oversee accounting operations, treasury, and internal controls.
• Manage pension and benefits programs; coordinate with Wespath.
• Ensure timely audits and regulatory filings.
• Lead governance, statistics, and reporting integrity.
• Direct team leadership and staff development within Stewardship Team.
• Support local churches and districts with financial training and partnerships.
