The Horizon Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead financial stewardship across churches, camps, and ministries. The role blends executive leadership with the duties of Conference Treasurer, guiding budgets, audits, and benefit programs.

As a senior leader, you will report to the Resident Bishop, chair key committees, and shape multi-year financial planning while strengthening internal controls and reporting integrity.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• At least seven years of financial management experience, including five years in nonprofit accounting.
• At least five years of supervisory experience leading professional staff.
• Demonstrated nonprofit accounting, budgeting, internal controls, and audit management knowledge.
• Experience presenting financial information to boards and committees of volunteers.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP software and strong spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high integrity.
• Alignment with Horizon Texas Conference mission and values.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as chief financial advisor to the Resident Bishop and senior leadership, translating financial data into strategic options.
• Develop multi-year forecasts, reserve strategies, and budget processes for the conference.
• Lead treasury, internal controls, and audit activities with external partners.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, fund accounting, and timely reporting to boards and donors.
• Oversee pension, health, and welfare benefits in coordination with partners.
• Provide governance support, training, and guidance to local churches and fiscal committees.
• Lead the Stewardship Team and supervise staff and contractors.
• Maintain relationships with CF&A, Trustees, and denominational partners.
