Job summary

Baptist University of the Americas seeks an Executive Director of Finance to lead all financial operations and strategy. This senior role reports to the President and chairs the finance function as a key member of the executive team.

Candidates should bring a minimum 8 years in accounting/finance, nonprofit or higher-ed experience, and strong leadership. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge is preferred; CPA or MBA is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field; CPA/MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years in accounting/finance with leadership experience.
• Non-profit or higher education accounting experience preferred.
• English proficiency; Spanish language skills a plus.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud and financial modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, planning, and reporting aligned with the mission.
• Publish timely monthly and quarterly financial reports for President and Trustees.
• Advise President and Board on financial planning, risk, and aid strategy.
• Ensure gifts and donor-restricted funds are properly accounted via Raiser's Edge.
• Oversee annual operating and capital budgets and controls.
• Manage HR processes and benefits administration with the business office.
• Oversee investments and endowments; liaise with investment firms.
• Direct business office operations: billing, AR/AP, payroll, vendor relations.
• Maintain strong internal controls and regulatory compliance.
