Job summary

Teledyne Brown Engineering seeks a seasoned Video Engineer to join the Huntsville team. You will design, implement, troubleshoot, and support enterprise video distribution systems for mission-critical environments, including Grass Valley routing and Haivision/Activu control platforms.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and networking to ensure reliable video performance, multicast workflows, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in video engineering or related field.
• Experience designing, supporting, and troubleshooting video distribution systems in operational environments.
• Hands-on experience with Grass Valley video routing systems.
• Experience with video control systems, including Haivision, RGB, Activu, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of video signal flow, routing, and endpoint devices.
• Knowledge of multicast concepts, IGMP, PIM, UDP, RTP, RTSP, TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and system diagrams.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, integrate, and support video distribution systems for operational video display, routing, monitoring, and control.
• Support Grass Valley routing environments, including routing configuration and troubleshooting.
• Configure and maintain Haivision, RGB, and Activu control technologies.
• Develop and maintain video system designs and signal-flow diagrams and procedures.
• Troubleshoot video quality, signal routing, endpoints, and transport issues.
• Support IP-based video distribution workflows including multicast routing and network coordination.
• Participate in system upgrades, testing, and change-management processes.
• Provide after-hours or on-call support for mission-critical video systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, networking, and vendor teams.
• Evaluate emerging video technologies and recommend improvements.
