Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Test Engineer to support the Chinook program for an IC customer. The role focuses on manual testing, test planning, procedure development, and API validation, ensuring mission-critical software operates reliably before deployment.

You will work with developers, product owners, and stakeholders in an Agile setting, translating requirements into test scenarios and identifying complex defects to reduce mission risk and improve system reliability.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field with 4–8 years of experience, or Master’s with 2–6 years of experience.
• 4+ years of software testing, quality engineering, or software validation experience.
• Experience performing manual functional, integration, regression, and system testing of enterprise software applications.
• Experience with API testing using Bruno, Postman, or comparable tools.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, HTTP, JSON payloads, and API validation.
• Experience using Jira or equivalent issue-tracking tools.
• Strong understanding of Agile SDLC, STLC, and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test cases and procedures.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and exploratory testing of web-based applications.
• Develop and maintain test plans, scenarios, and test execution docs with traceability.
• Conduct API testing using Bruno, Postman, and/or Swagger UI.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to define testing strategies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities.
• Identify test scenarios from user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Execute tests across development, integration, and staging environments.
• Document and track defects with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
• Verify defects and regression testing to ensure fixes work without introducing new issues.
