Job summary

NS2 Mission in the Northern Virginia area is seeking a Test Engineer to validate enterprise software and support delivery across mission environments. You will develop and execute test strategies, identify defects, and work with developers, systems engineers, and program stakeholders to ensure quality.

The role emphasizes automation, test frameworks, and continuous improvement of testing processes, with collaboration across teams and a focus on reliability and performance in complex environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience supporting software testing, quality assurance, or test engineering activities.
• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Experience working with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and QA best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, cases, and procedures to validate functionality.
• Identify, document, track, and help resolve software defects and system issues.
• Support QA activities across the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in reviews of requirements, designs, and test plans.
• Evaluate software, hardware, and docs to verify usability and readiness.
• Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to define tests.
• Contribute to automated testing solutions to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Support regression, integration, functional, and user acceptance testing.
• Use GitHub, Jira, and Confluence to track defects and document progress.
• Assist in continuous improvement of testing processes and QA practices.
