Job summary

The HR SOURCE is seeking an experienced Systems Test Engineer to support testing and validation of mission-critical software, telecommunications infrastructure, and radio/telephone systems. You will verify that integrated hardware and software meet defined requirements and collaborate with engineering teams and customers to develop robust test strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software, systems, hardware, or integration testing.
• 3 years of relevant IT/telecommunications hardware and software experience if no related bachelor’s degree.
• Experience developing formal test plans and supporting documentation for internal and customer testing.
• Experience testing complex technical systems, preferably mission-critical or high-availability hardware/software.
• Hands-on experience with VoIP, T1, ISDN, POTS, and TDM.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into repeatable test procedures.
• Experience identifying and documenting defects with technical detail.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, scripts, and specifications based on requirements.
• Perform system-level testing including functional, performance, reliability, security, and environmental testing.
• Support FAT/FQT and customer acceptance testing and other verification activities.
• Manage test environments, configurations, and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop verification approaches based on requirements, use cases, and operating conditions.
• Analyze requirements to determine testability and verification methods.
• Identify, investigate, and document defects discovered during testing.
• Provide steps to reproduce defects and related information.
• Partner with engineering to recreate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
• Maintain testing documentation and records, including results and defect information.
• Analyze test results for trends and areas for improvement.
• Communicate testing status and risks to engineers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering Support for root-cause analysis in live environments.
• Suggest improvements to testing practices and processes.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and partners about requirements and configurations.
