Job summary

Apogee Engineering, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer SME to support mission-critical software modernization, development, and deployment for the Air Force NC3 and USSTRATCOM/J56. Role focuses on advancing mission planning, Agile/DevOps practices, and continuous integration/delivery for strategic deterrence.

The position is on-site at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, with travel up to 10%. Requires U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI eligibility, and a Bachelor's degree with extensive DoD experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Citizenship: US citizen.
• Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility must be possessed and maintained.
• Experience: minimum 12 years relevant experience, including 5 years with the DoD.

Responsibilities

• Lead business systems analysis to support integration of conventional and nuclear mission capabilities under the J56 portfolio.
• Coordinate requirements gathering with stakeholders across conventional and nuclear operations to align strategic objectives.
• Develop detailed process flows and data exchange mappings bridging legacy nuclear systems with modern conventional platforms.
• Partner with engineering and security teams to ensure integrated solutions meet nuclear surety, safety, and compliance standards.
• Facilitate cross-domain working groups to resolve integration challenges and ensure interoperability between conventional and nuclear assets.
• Oversee end-to-end integration testing, including scenario simulations that validate system performance under both mission sets.
• Provide leadership with impact analyses, risk assessments, and mitigation recommendations for dual-domain readiness.
