Job summary

Kavaliro is seeking a Software Developer to join an experienced engineering team focused on sustaining mission-critical applications within the Intelligence Community. The role emphasizes Java and C++ development across modernized platforms and legacy systems, with TS/SCI clearance preferred.

The ideal candidate will contribute to design, development, and deployment of core software, while improving CI/CD pipelines and collaborating across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience developing, deploying, and supporting production software
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java and C++
• Python development experience is preferred
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade software systems
• Proficiency working in Linux/Unix environments, preferably Rocky Linux, RHEL, or similar
• Experience with Git and modern version-control practices
• Active TS security clearance required; TS/SCI is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small, highly experienced engineering team supporting application sustainment, new feature development, and modernization initiatives
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain mission-critical software applications
• Develop core application functionality used by geographically distributed customers across the Intelligence Community
• Support the ongoing enhancement and modernization of existing software and services
• Troubleshoot technical issues and help provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to users and customers
• Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support consistent and reliable software releases
• Analyze existing applications, dependencies, and technical architecture to implement enhancements with minimal impact to ongoing operations
• Collaborate with other developers and engineers to improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
