Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience developing, deploying, and supporting production software
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java and C++
• Python development experience is preferred
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade software systems
• Proficiency working in Linux/Unix environments, preferably Rocky Linux, RHEL, or similar
• Experience with Git and modern version-control practices
• Active TS security clearance required; TS/SCI is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small, highly experienced engineering team supporting application sustainment, new feature development, and modernization initiatives

• Support the ongoing enhancement and modernization of existing software and services

This role is well suited for a mid- to senior-level developer who enjoys tackling complex technical problems and can work comfortably across both modernized platforms and established legacy systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong Java and C++ development experience, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to evolving technical requirements in a mission-focused environment. Pay: $130,000.00 - 140,000.00 per year

What You'll Do

Preferred Experience

• Software Development & Engineering Experience with software testing, debugging, profiling, and performance optimization
• Ability to troubleshoot complex applications involving multiple programming languages and technologies
• Experience reviewing existing codebases, identifying dependencies, and making targeted changes without disrupting production operations
• Application Modernization & Architecture Experience modernizing legacy applications through techniques such as containerization, modular architecture, and interface/API improvements
• Understanding of strategies for reducing technical debt while improving application maintainability
• Knowledge of horizontal and vertical scalability concepts
• Experience improving application architecture for long-term reliability and growth
• Security & Compliance Experience applying secure software development practices
• Understanding of security controls, compliance requirements, and their impact on software development and deployment
• Ability to incorporate security considerations throughout the application development life cycle
