Job summary

MITRE is seeking a software-focused engineer to develop and integrate mission-critical software for national security programs. You will work across software engineering, cybersecurity, and DoW workflows, applying AI/ML techniques to planning and optimization.

The role requires a BS in a technical field, hands-on development experience, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Expect on-site work and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 0-2 years of relevant hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency with Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Experience building full-stack/web apps with React/Angular/Node.js/Spring Boot/Flask.
• Foundational cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker familiarity.
• Experience with databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and Git.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• U.S. citizen eligible for Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and assess software-intensive mission capabilities for advanced programs.
• Apply systems engineering, software engineering, and cybersecurity to improve resiliency and scalability.
• Leverage AI/ML and AI-assisted development to support joint force efforts and DoW systems.
• Support software health and resiliency across software ecosystems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with sponsors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical products and analyses.
