Job summary

United Future in Camden, NJ is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of mission-critical software for communications and service-based systems. You will mentor engineers, guide architecture, and drive delivery across requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration across disciplines, and a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years experience; or graduate degree with 7+ years; or 13+ years in lieu of degree.
Experience in a senior engineering, technical lead, or informal leadership role.
Experience designing, developing, or integrating RESTful services in production.
DoD Secret security clearance.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines and programs.
Experience working in an Agile or hybrid Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day technical and task leadership for a team of software engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality software on cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Lead development of RESTful APIs and service-based architectures and supporting Java enterprise applications deployed as WAR files on JBoss or similar application servers.
Guide software deployment and sustainment on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems and supporting RPM-based packaging and distribution.
Participate in and lead code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions for service-based, VoIP, and application-level software systems.
