Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a Safety Manager to lead mission critical safety programs across projects in the United States. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and overseeing safety initiatives, audits, and training in alignment with OSHA regulations and Shawmut policies.

Travel up to 50% is required to support field teams. The position requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related safety role, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety with OSHA Construction Standards.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must be First Aid and CPR qualified (or within 1 year).
• OSHA 500 Authorized Instructor preferred.
• BCSP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Review project documents and schedules, assess hazards, coordinate with PMs and Superintendents on safety plans.
• Ensure safety checklists, permits, and documentation are in place.
• Conduct site inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare inspection and incident reports and follow up on actions.
• Advise on safety compliance trends and prevention strategies.
• Deliver safety trainings and orientations for employees and subcontractors.
