Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a full-time Safety Manager to lead safety programs on mission-critical projects. The role designs, implements, and oversees safety protocols, audits, and training to protect workers and reduce liability.

Travel up to 50% is required and you will work with project teams, risk management, OSHA, and regulators to ensure compliance and a strong safety culture across sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a related safety role; data center experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent experience.
• First Aid and CPR qualified; OSHA 500 Instructor preferred; BCSP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and enforce safety policies per SOPs and OSHA rules.
• Review project documents, assess sites, and coordinate safety plans with PMs.
• Conduct site inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to workers and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents and share lessons learned across the team.
• Maintain safety records and permits; ensure documentation is complete.
