Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Safety Engineer to join their Mission Critical team across multiple locations including South Bend, IN.

The role demands 3+ years in safety management on mission critical projects and a strong focus on compliance, incident investigations, and program development. You will monitor construction activities, lead safety initiatives, and coordinate with site teams to implement preventive controls.

Qualifications

  • Minimum years of construction management experience or 3 years safety experience in construction.
  • Knowledge of LOTO requirements and NFPA 70E.
  • OSHA-related construction knowledge and compliance.
  • Ability to lead safety programs and conduct site inspections.
  • Experience with accident investigations and reporting.
  • Ability to travel to project locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with safety and project leadership to implement and monitor safety programs.
  • Contribute to safety program design, management and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor construction activities for regulatory compliance and safety hazards.
  • Collect and monitor project safety data from subcontractors and sites.
  • Assist in investigating accidents, near misses and incidents.
  • Develop preventive measures to mitigate hazards and liability.
  • Prepare accident reports per regulations and client requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections with project teams and leadership.
  • Disseminate safety materials and conduct training for project teams.
  • Support data analytics databases for operational safety improvements.
  • Participate in preconstruction safety meetings and committee meetings.
  • Review JHA’s, PTP’s and subcontractor permits.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and job safety meetings.
  • Assist site safety personnel and ensure program adequacy and compliance.
  • Provide training and technical safety support for mission critical projects.
